Offer description

Sakar Constructions is a commercial carpentry specialist working on South Australia's most recognisable health, education, fit‐out and large‐scale commercial projects. Recent and current work includes major education campuses, medical facilities and civic builds such as Monarto Safari Park Visitor Centre, Flinders Medical Centre and large secondary and tertiary education projects across Adelaide.

Our team delivers detail‐critical carpentry on long‐running sites where finish, coordination and consistency matter. This is work you can stand behind.

What's on offer:

* Permanent full‐time employment on respected South Australian commercial projects
* Above‐award pay ($36–$52 per hour) based on experience and responsibility
* Organised sites, experienced teams and consistent hours
* Clear pathways into Senior Carpenter, Leading Hand or Supervisor roles

Why Sakar?

At Sakar, you'll work on well‐run commercial sites with experienced trades and supported apprentices. Teams are stable, people tend to stay, and there's a strong sense of backing each other on site. Carpenters are trusted to lean into the type of work they do best, whether it's first‐fix, second‐fix or detail‐critical finishes.

The sites are professional and metro Adelaide‐based, with quality work as the baseline. When something needs attention, it gets talked through and sorted, keeping the job moving smoothly.

Perks and benefits

* Above‐award pay, aligned to experience and progression
* Permanent full‐time employment with an immediate start
* Consistent hours, with overtime available when it makes sense
* Clear support for training and career development
* Company uniform supplied
* Quarterly team days and incentives that recognise contribution
* A team culture that's built on mutual respect

The Work

You'll be part of a stable crew delivering commercial carpentry on a mixture of projects ranging from short to long‐running sites, with the time and structure to do the work properly.

Depending on your strengths and interests, your role may include:

* First and second fix commercial carpentry
* Door frames, doors and hardware
* Skirting, architraves and linings
* Cladding and linings
* Joinery and solid timber work

A standard day:

You arrive on site knowing where you'll be working, who you're working with, and what needs to get done. The site is set up properly, the leading hand has a plan, and the drawings make sense. The pace is steady, not frantic. You get into the work you're good at, whether that's first fix, second fix, or detail work where doing it right the first time is the norm. Questions get answered, problems get talked through, and if someone needs a hand, someone steps in. You knock off knowing the work's solid, the team's got your back, and you'll be back on the same site tomorrow.

We're looking for Someone Who

* Is a trade‐qualified carpenter (Cert III or higher)
* Holds a Construction Induction White Card
* Has a licence and reliable transport
* Is skilled at reading and interpreting plans and drawings
* Thinks ahead, solves problems as they come up, and doesn't wait to be told every next step
* Communicates clearly on site and gets along with a wide range of people
* Takes pride in turning out work you're happy to put your name to
* Shows up on time, follows through, and can be relied on by the rest of the crew
* Understands Workplace Health & Safety on commercial sites and takes that responsibility seriously
* Is comfortable working independently when needed, and just as comfortable backing up the team
* Is experienced in commercial construction (advantageous but not essential)

In short, if you're a qualified carpenter who knows your way around commercial sites, can read drawings without squinting, backs your teammates and can hold your own whether you're working solo or as part of the crew, we want to hear from you! If you've got commercial experience, great. If you're building toward it, we're open to that too.
