As a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner for Yarra Ranges Council’s ‘Built Environment & Infrastructure’ and ‘Planning & Sustainable Futures’ Directorates, you’ll partner closely with leaders and teams across Council to provide practical advice, support and education. Your guidance will help drive initiatives that improve safety performance and foster a proactive safety culture across a diverse, multi-risk workforce containing both indoor and outdoor staff.
Responsibilities
* Incident Management and risk mitigation
* Championing a preventative approach to Psychosocial Health
* Conducting workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments
* Incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action follow-up
* Delivering education and training that builds safety capability and awareness
* This position is based at our Civic Centre in Lilydale; travel may be required to other sites and locations within the municipality.
This is a full-time permanent position with a salary range between $98,432 and $107,292 per annum (Band 6), plus superannuation.

Experience and skills
* Diploma or Certificate 4 in Occupational Health and Safety or significant relevant work experience in health and safety
* Deep understanding of OHS legislation and risk management within complex environments (e.g. high-risk plant and equipment).
* Strong knowledge of incident management and risk mitigation and management
* The ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels, and experience in developing concise business and investigative reports.
* Experience with digital safety tools and H&S management systems (e.g., ISO 45001) is highly regarded.
