 
        
        Leading Hand Carpenter role at Design Build – join a high-end residential builder based in Melbourne’s South Eastern Suburbs. Our client has been established for over 5 years, delivering bespoke residential recent builds, renovations, and extensions valued up to $6m. With a strong pipeline of projects currently underway and more due to begin, they are looking to expand their team. 
They are looking for a Leading Hand who is skilled in carpentry and happy to be on the tools while assisting the Site Manager to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly. The company is in a growth phase as they expand their presence in the market, making it an exciting time to join! 
Responsibilities 
- Assisting in leading in-house carpenters and subcontractors across multiple sites 
- Planning daily and weekly tasks, allocating work, and monitoring progress 
- Ordering and coordinating materials, tools, and equipment deliveries 
- Maintaining site safety, compliance, and cleanliness 
- Liaising with suppliers and the internal team 
- Representing the builder professionally to clients, consultants, and trades 
- Contributing on the tools as required to support your team and drive progress 
The ideal candidate will have 
- Experience across high-end/custom residential projects 
- A proven ability to lead and motivate a team 
- A strong understanding of construction sequencing, premium finishes, and site logistics 
- The ability to manage multiple moving parts while maintaining quality and control
