About the role
WorkPac seeking an experienced Specialist Asset Management for a 12 month duration. Based on-site and supporting Rio Tinto's Rail customer group this opportunity supports Rail, Utilities, and Ports portfolios. The successful candidate will drive performance improvements, coach site leaders, and support the development of strategic and annual asset plans, all while aligning to Rio Tinto's Asset Management framework.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess site Asset Management processes against Rio Tinto standards
* Drive on-site performance and risk mitigation aligned to asset strategies
* Analyse data and diagnostics to identify gaps and provide insights
* Support the development and delivery of annual improvement plans
* Engage with leadership to align asset priorities with business strategy
* Coach and influence site leaders in Asset Management best practices
* Promote consistent Asset Management across Rail, Utilities, and Ports
* Provide feedback to central teams on tools and systems development
* Ensure SAP competence and support user acceptance testing where needed
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety
Skills and Experience Required
* Rail operations and asset planning experience (essential)
* Strong background in Work Management – planning & scheduling
* Prior experience with Rio Tinto, ideally within the Rail division (preferred)
* Proficiency in SAP and asset performance diagnostic tools
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to coach and influence without formal authority
* Data-driven with analytical problem-solving skills
* Experience aligning asset processes to strategic plans
* Strong focus on safety, reliability, and performance outcomes
* Valid C Class Licence
