Role Details:
Join us at the Department for Child Protection as the User Experience Designer based in Adelaide within the KidSafe Connect transformation program. This senior role leads the design and continuous improvement of physical and digital experiences that support children, families, carers and staff. You will drive research led design, create intuitive interfaces, and influence decision making that helps the program achieve meaningful outcomes. In this role, you will
* Lead end to end user experience design from discovery through delivery, ensuring solutions are inclusive, accessible and aligned with program objectives.
* Conduct user research and usability testing to inform decision making and validate design solutions.
* Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows and high fidelity designs that communicate concepts clearly and support iteration.
* Facilitate workshops and engagement activities with diverse users, staff and partners to gather insights and prioritise needs.
* Collaborate with service design, ICT, policy and operational teams to ensure solutions are feasible, viable and desirable.
* Monitor outcomes, analyse feedback and refine user experience improvements based on evidence.
To be successful
You bring extensive experience in UX design within complex service environments, supported by strong capabilities in research, testing, interaction design and prototyping. You are confident leading user experience work from early discovery to delivery, and your practice reflects a balance of innovation, operational practicality and inclusive design standards.
You will be effective in this role if you can engage and influence across executive, practitioner and community audiences. Your approach to collaboration, facilitation and communication supports shared understanding and strong decision making. You are outcomes focused, using data, feedback and continuous improvement cycles to uplift the end user experience.
