Project Supervisor – Groundwater Recovery and Management System (GWRMS)
Mount Isa Mines (MIM) is delivering the Groundwater Recovery and Management System (GWRMS)—a major environmental initiative designed to recover groundwater from five remediation zones and transfer it to the process plant for beneficial use. We are seeking a Project Supervisor to form a key part of the client-side execution team across the mechanical and electrical work packages. This position can be based in Mount Isa or offered as a FIFO role from Brisbane, Cairns, or Townsville.
About the Role
As a Project Supervisor on the GWRMS Project, you will support the delivery of key project infrastructure, including:
Construction and commissioning of High Voltage (HV) overhead transmission lines
Construction and commissioning of electrical and control systems
Construction and commissioning of structural, mechanical, and piping infrastructure
Coordination of free-issued equipment across multiple work fronts
You will play a central role in coordinating construction activities and managing contractor interfaces to ensure this integrated system is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Promoting Safety: Ensure the safe execution and implementation of electrical and mechanical work packages.
Overseeing Project Execution: Manage contractor relationships; ensure works are completed in line with scope, schedule, budget, resource plans, and safety protocols.
Ensuring Quality: Implement strong quality assurance and quality control measures across all workstreams.
Leading Teams: Supervise and motivate multidisciplinary crews to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation by applying strategies derived from audits, inspections, and lessons learned to enhance project performance.
What You Bring to the Table
A solid background in an electrical or mechanical trade
Electrical licence holder (highly regarded)
S1, S2, S3 qualifications
Demonstrated experience in overseeing construction projects and managing teams
Proven capability in project execution, including timeline and cost management
Strong ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise competing demands
Experience working in processing, mining, or environmental projects
Good computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
A forward-thinking mindset, strong contractor management skills, and a firm commitment to safety, enabling you to lead your team and drive operational excellence
