The Role
The ABC is looking for a Radio Sub Reader to join our News, Analysis & Investigations team. In this 12-month, fixed-term role, you will help deliver high-quality news content for NT audiences across live bulletins, digital platforms and on-demand audio. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom committed to high editorial standards.
The Job
* Produce, sub-edit and read news content for radio and on-demand platforms.
* Write and check stories for factual accuracy, style consistency and editorial quality.
* Present live to air radio bulletins to a high professional standard.
* Work closely with state and network colleagues to ensure strong coverage of Territory and metropolitan stories.
* Generate original ideas, contribute to editorial meetings, and support cross-platform storytelling.
* Maintain a strong awareness of local, national and international news.
* Mentor team members where appropriate and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
About You
You're an accomplished broadcast and digital journalist with sharp subediting skills, strong on-air presence and the ability to thrive in a fast paced newsroom.
You'll have:
* Strong digital and broadcast journalism skills and experience in a fast-paced news environment.
* A proven track record as a meticulous, fast and accurate subeditor, able to rewrite copy to a high standard.
* Confident and accomplished on-air presentation skills.
