Amrec International is looking for Senior Project Planner to join a new team of dynamic project controls specialists working with a range of clients on various exciting large scale capital engineering projects.

Amrec International offers services in project management, project controls, project estimating, contract management, management of claims and disputes, risk models (QRA) and risk management.
The Senior Project Planner role, based out of Perth or nearby areas, requires involvement on large scale engineering capital projects, to coordinate the various project and contract management activities. The Senior Project Planner is responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project goals, timelines, and resource availability. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of complex projects.
Key Role Responsibilities and Functions:
· Develop detailed project schedules using planning software Primavera P6.
· Coordinate with project managers and team leads to define tasks, durations, dependencies, and critical path items.
· Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly. Identify and flag risks or deviations from baseline.
· Prepare project planning reports, dashboards, and schedule forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
· Support resource and cost loading into the schedule to ensure accurate project performance tracking.
· Conduct schedule risk analysis and provide mitigation recommendations.
· Participate in project planning meetings, progress reviews, and change management processes.
· Ensure planning practices are aligned with organizational standards and industry best practices.
· Mentor junior planners and provide guidance in planning techniques and tools.
· Assist in bid and tender planning efforts where required.
· Overseeing Contractors works and performing independent assessments of progress.
Minimum Requirements:
· Relevant Project management qualification/ registration.
· Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in project planning, preferably in sectors like construction, engineering, mining, or infrastructure.
· Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other scheduling software.
· Strong understanding of project controls earned value management (EVM), and critical path method (CPM) analysis.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
· Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
· Strong stakeholder management and teamwork abilities.
· Valid right to work in Australia.
· Ability and appetite to travel to remote sites and do rotation-based work is essential.
Experience in the following areas is essential:
· PMP, PMI-SP, or PRINCE2 certification.
· Experience with planning large-scale or international projects.
· Development or understanding of detailed project programmes with inputs from project leads and bills of quantities.
· Reporting on programme, project and contractor performance. Clear understanding of the use of a master schedule, with detailed phase or contractors' sub-schedules.
· Demonstrated contractor contract variation management, including exposure to claim analysis and entitlement determination.
· Contracts Management and understanding of standard contract conditions.
· Schedule and contract management exposure
· Familiarity with project management software integrations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Power BI).
