We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join our PAE Libraries team as a Customer Experience this role you will play a key part in leading the PAE library operations and staff to deliver welcoming inclusive services. The role ensures positive customer experiences by providing access to collections spaces technology programs and Council services that support community connection and learning.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Coordinate and support PAE library staff to deliver excellent community services.
Provide leadership aligned with Councils vision plans and the UNESCO Public Library Manifesto.
Oversee daily operations projects rosters and resource management across libraries.
Support best practice customer service and outreach opportunities.
Manage facilities budgets and contractor supervision ensuring compliance with policies and WHS.
Lead staff and volunteer management including recruitment training development and performance reviews.
Deliver customer experience and service training in collaboration with the Team Leader.
Supervise the Home Library Service and contribute to library process improvements.
This role may be required to work out of hours work including evenings and weekends to support the operational requirements of the PAE libraries. It also involves periods of standing and walking along with the physical handling of library items shelving display stands tables chairs and other materials needed for library programs and activities.
The successful applicant will have:
A degree qualification in Library and Information Management or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Working with Childrens Check (WWCC) & Child Safe Environments certification.
Current Class C Drivers license is highly desirable.
Supervisory experience with staff management skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in dynamic complex and diverse environments.
Essential background in public libraries.
Experience in project delivery and reporting ideally within local government.
Strong knowledge of public libraries their role and emerging trends in technology and service delivery.
Proficient in library systems digital resources and information technology.
Knowledge of literature and reader advisory.
Excellent literacy written and verbal communication skills.
This is a Level 4 position which has a current salary range of $***** - $ (plus Super).
