Australian Honey Products is the longest-established commercial apiary in Tasmania. The processing facility in Sheffield, where our honey is extracted is the most modern and largest extracting facility in Australia. We are a family owned and operated company and produce honey products and honey based liquor beverages. We also provide crop pollination services for a range of agricultural partners.
Role
If you are looking for a position in a rewarding industry that allows you to work in the outdoors, then this is the opportunity you are looking for.
This can be a physically demanding role and candidates must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job. The role also requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a team and unsupervised and recognition of safety in the workplace. During February to March, Launceston based applicants will be required to stay at our worker accommodation Monday to Friday in Waratah with all transport and food supplied.
Beekeeping experience is an advantage as is a truck license, however training and career progression is offered. Traineeships are also available, providing the opportunity to learn from our head beekeeper with over 50 years experience in the industry.
Responsibilities
* Regularly inspect hives for health and cleanliness.
* Extract honey from hives, which involves removing honeycomb frames, processing honey.
* Move hives to new locations around Tasmania.
* Undertake work in the production facility to package honey products.
* Assist with the maintenance of our beekeeping equipment.
A current Medium Rigid Truck or Heavy Rigid License with experience is an advantage but not essential.
Qualifications
* Physical capability to meet the physical demands of the role.
* Attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised.
* Understanding and recognition of safety in the workplace.
* Beekeeping experience an advantage; truck license an advantage.
