Senior opportunity to run finance and admin functions for a well-established business Your new company
An established and respected Tasmanian organisation is seeking a senior finance professional to join its leadership team. This is a pivotal role, working closely with the General Manager and Operations leadership, providing end-to-end oversight of finance, administration, systems and compliance.This position will suit a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys operating at both a strategic and hands-on level within a growing and operationally complex environment.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the full finance and administration function, with accountability across reporting, compliance, people leadership, systems and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Oversight of accounting operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general ledger, cash flow, inventory, assets and leases
* Delivery of accurate monthly management reporting and coordination of externally prepared annual financial statements
* Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, including GST, PAYG, STP, superannuation, payroll tax and industry specific reporting
* Development and management of budgets, forecasts and financial models
* Providing commercial insights through cost analysis, pricing review and performance against budget
* Financial strategy development including risk management, forecasting and investment advice
* Ownership of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
* Management of core systems including Xero, Simpro and HR platforms
* Leadership, mentoring and performance management of administration staff
* Contribution to executive meetings through reporting, analysis and recommendations
* Oversight of human resources administration, payroll, facilities, assets and insurance renewals
* Identification and delivery of business improvement initiatives and process efficiencies
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate, you will need to be a confident and credible finance leader who can partner effectively with operational stakeholders while maintaining strong governance and control.
You will also bring:• Degree or higher qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline
* Five or more years experience in a senior finance or business management role
* Demonstrated experience leading a finance or administration team
* Advanced capability in Xero and strong systems aptitude
* Excellent financial reporting, budgeting and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior leaders
* High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Experience in construction, trade or project-based environments will be highly regarded
