Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Operations Manager to oversee and direct electrical operations on a large-scale project. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple teams, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards, and promoting a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and direct electrical operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
* Provide leadership to personnel assigned to the electrical department, including training and development opportunities.
* Inspect sites for unsafe conditions and practices, taking corrective action as necessary.
* Coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices across all teams.
* Champion a zero-accident philosophy and promote a culture of safety throughout the project.
* Ensure adherence to Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements, and standards within the electrical discipline.
* Monitor craft activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Major Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the cost, schedule, and optimization of craft labor and maintenance of schedules for labor and equipment.
* Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
* Review craft time records using established automated tools.
* Approve subcontractor equipment/personnel mobilization and demobilization.
* Implement corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned electrical operations.
* Coordinate established area operational plans.
* Liaise with operations to perform work in a brownfield area.
* Communicate with operations on interface work activities.
* Provide input to quantity tracking applications and report weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
* Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables and coordinate through Procurement to obtain these materials.
* Assist in performing construction testing as required.
* Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecasts.
* Plan manpower and equipment required to execute the job. Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate electrical personnel.
Education And Experience Requirements:
* University/B.S degree in Electrical Engineering or 12-15 years of equivalent industry experience in-lieu of a degree.
* Experience on an LNG construction site.
* Previous experience on a large project scheduling and directing the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area OR;
* Previous experience on a small- to medium-sized project, coordinating and directing multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering all areas of the project.
Required Knowledge And Skills:
* Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
* Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
* Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating station construction is preferred.
* Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
