The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates four health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison.
The $188 million redevelopment of Geraldton Health Campus is an investment in the Midwest, delivering:
* an expanded emergency department
* a new intensive care unit and new high dependency unit
* a new integrated mental health service inclusive of an adult mental health inpatient unit and a mental health short stay unit
A community reference group with local consumers, staff and representatives from local organisations helped inform the architectural drawings.
The group also shaped cultural recognition of the traditional land owners and representation of regionally significant landmarks and industries in the new facility.
