Mechanical Fitter – Weir Minerals, Townsville – Onsite
Schedule
* Monday – Thursday 6am – 2.30pm
* Friday 5am – 11am
* Overtime available through the week
* All uniforms, tools and PPE provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
* Stripping, maintaining, repairing and reporting on customer pumps both in the Townsville Service Centre and occasionally at customer operations.
* Providing informed recommendations to enhance product performance, service quality and workshop processes.
* Playing an active role in implementing the Weir Production System within the Rebuild Centre.
* Supporting mine shutdowns by attending customer sites when required.
What you'll bring
* Cert III – Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning
* Experience in mechanical fitting in a workshop and onsite environments
* Experience leading and mentoring a team of fitters
* Well developed written and verbal communication skills
* High Risk Fork lift ticket – required
* Overhead crane & doggers ticket – highly desirable
* Current Driver's License
