About The Client
Our client is an Australian business, that manufactures and supplies 100% Australian-made steel reinforcing bar, mesh and accessories.
About The Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive Dispatch & Logistics Coordinator to plan and coordinate daily steel deliveries, ensuring safe, on-time dispatch and excellent customer service. Working closely with internal teams and external freight contractors, youll be responsible for coordinating the delivery of up to 100+ tonnes of steel products each day. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth operations, strong DIFOT performance, and positive customer experiences in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and manage daily dispatch schedules, coordinating drivers, customers and internal teams
* Collaborate with Production, Operations, Scheduling and Sales to ensure seamless delivery outcomes
* Confirm loads and prepare dispatch plans of delivery to maximise DIFOT performance
* Execute daily dispatch plans, responding quickly to changes and customer requirements
* Distribute loading dockets accurately and on time to operational teams
* Liaise with customers and freight partners to coordinate pickups and special delivery needs
* Support customer service functions, including enquiries, orders and quotes as required
* Monitor delivery performance, freight costs and recovery against operational targets
Requirements
* Drivers licence and reliable transport
* Previous experience in transport, logistics, manufacturing or a similar operational environment
* Strong understanding of load planning, restraints and safety compliance
* Advanced computer skills, including MS Office (Excel) and ERP systems (Symix, Oracle or SAP desirable)
* Proven ability to multitask, prioritise and adapt in a busy, deadline-driven environment
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a professional stakeholder approach
* Safety-first mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
* Collaborative and customer-focused attitude
* Ability to pass pre-employment medical and D&A
