NV1/NV2 Network Communication Engineer
We want to secure a highly skilled NV1/NV2 Network Communication Engineer to work with our Professional Services team in delivery capability for the National Intelligence Community.
* Initial 2-year contract
* Canberra Location
* Active security clearance (NV1 minimum, NV2 highly desirable) required
* Extensive experience in Defence communications networks, coalition systems integration, and C4ISR frameworks
Role
This is a rare opportunity for a highly experienced technical leader to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering advanced communications and information systems within complex Defence environments. You will work at the forefront of joint and coalition capability development, driving integration, innovation, and operational readiness across mission‐critical networks. Your expertise will directly influence the success of large‐scale exercises, trials, and future‐focused land combat systems.
Your duties will include
* Lead technical planning and coordination for major coalition activities, exercises, and assessments
* Design, develop, and maintain secure network architectures across test, development, and deployable environments
* Deliver training and mentorship to personnel on coalition systems and network operations
* Provide expert advice on CIS standards, architecture, and integration frameworks
* Support test and evaluation activities, including troubleshooting and technical remediation
* Contribute to innovation initiatives and future capability development for mission systems and networks
Skills and experience we are looking for
* Proven leadership experience in Defence communications engineering or similar complex environments
* Strong expertise in LAN/WAN design, network security, and systems integration (including virtualized environments)
* Deep understanding of C4ISR frameworks, coalition networking standards, and mission system architectures
* Hands‐on experience with Microsoft server ecosystems, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper‐V), and enterprise applications
* Extensive knowledge of tactical and strategic communications systems, including SATCOM and IP‐based networks
* Relevant qualifications or experience demonstrated in project management, security, and ICT service delivery frameworks (e.g. ITIL)
