What you'll be doing
The primary objective of the Community Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (CBIRS) occupational therapist is to provide specialised home and community based occupational therapy services for adults who have sustained a significant brain injury, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. The focus of occupational therapy services is on enhancing the daily living skills of individuals with complex brain injuries in home and community environments. The CBIRS uses a role-based, client and family focussed framework that is culturally sensitive, with rehabilitation goals developed on a collaborative basis with clients and their families. A broad evidence based practice approach in conjunction with innovation and a focus on quality management underpin all CBIRS services.
This is a Senior Clinician position within a specialised Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service. The occupational therapist requires high levels of clinical expertise and knowledge relevant to the provision of high quality occupational therapy services to clients with brain injuries and their families, and the skills to work autonomously with minimal direct clinical supervision on a day-to-day basis. These clients have complex difficulties which require advanced occupational therapy practice skills.
