Mossman State High School is seeking applications for a School Community Partnership Facilitator (Identified) to join their school community on a full-time temporary basis, for a period of 12 months unless otherwise determined.Local knowledge of families, Kuku Yalanji cultural and language, as well as in-depth knowledge of Indigenous agencies and support systems within the local community, would be advantageous. Students come from communities north of the Daintree River, south of Port Douglas, and west up to Julatten, including the Mossman area and Mossman Gorge.First Nations students make up 20% of the student population and have traditional family and cultural connections to communities on Cape York Peninsula and the Tablelands. The school's vision of "Every student succeeding: We Care, We Learn, We Succeed" and its core values of safety, respect, and learning work together to create a safe, supportive environment where students can find their best learning pathway and be fully supported and engaged for successful and meaningful outcomes.About The RoleAs the School Community Partnership Facilitator, you will:Develop, connect, and engage with key school, family, and community stakeholders to inform local, place-based action plans for shared outcomes, as part of the Equity and Excellence Partnership initiative targeting tailored support to regional, rural, and remote Queensland state schools.Assist partnership school leaders in engaging their communities through co-design and deliver in-school and cross-agency responses that promote effective service delivery, performance improvement, and strengthened community connections.The Facilitator reports to the Principal or nominated delegate.Responsibilities IncludeManage key relationships to enhance planning and service delivery processes.Prioritize, schedule, and perform work to meet deadlines, commitments, and service standards.Participate in a work team and undertake various project activities.Mandatory Requirements for the Identified RoleIt is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, as per Section 7 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 and Section 25 of that Act.Verification of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Islander HeritageApplicants may need to provide confirmation of their heritage, which involves identifying as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, being of descent, and accepted by their community.
