This assignment is for 12 months via Chandler Macleod.
About the Job:
The Cost Controller works closely with the Project Controls Lead to provide expert technical advice and guidance on cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Control Leadership:
- Work closely with the Project Controls Lead and other team members to implement sound cost control services;
- Advise the Project Controls Lead of areas of actual or potential problems;
- Subject matter expert for all cost controls matters.
* General Project Controls:
- Develop detailed budgets from TIC estimates;
- Manage input into periodic budget processes;
- Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of costs vs. budget;
- Identify cost-overrun risks and recommend mitigations;
- Ensure cost control processes are understood within the team;
- Maintain commercial awareness through understanding of contract packages;
- Perform health checks and audits of Contractor cost reporting;
- Work with Contractors to oversee development of cost estimates;
- Provide support for development of management presentations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated track record in successful completion of cost control tasks;
* In-depth knowledge of project change control and cost forecasting;
* Proficient in oral and written communications;
* Extensive experience in Cost Control and/or Project Controls;
* Exposure to extractive industries with oil and gas experience considered an advantage;
* Familiarity with cost control packages desirable.
Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs:
* Hold a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline;
* Knowledge of multi-disciplinary teams including experience of managing contractors.
