Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to apply technical and project management skills to a broad range of asset types. Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Construction & Maintenance, you will be responsible for supporting the investigation, planning, and delivery of maintenance and construction works across diverse civil assets.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate asset condition and performance; recommend remedial works
* Assist with planning and implementation of civil infrastructure maintenance programs
* Manage external contractors and suppliers in line with contract specifications and Council standards
* Provide technical engineering support across teams for planning, capital works and emergency response
* Liaise with residents, utilities, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication on projects
* Ensure works are delivered within time, quality and regulatory frameworks
* Stay up-to-date with industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field
* Experience in investigation, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects
* Strong understanding of road, drainage, coastal and public infrastructure assets
* Familiarity with local government regulations, policies and contract management
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proven ability to balance technical demands with community outcomes
