The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver innovative and sustainable water, wastewater and recycled water treatment process planning and design solutions for Aurecon’s clients. You will be a key member of a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ through a combination of technical knowledge, experience and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of process designs for complex water and wastewater treatment projects, including concept design, detailed design, and construction / commissioning support.
- Contribute to strategic and conceptual planning investigations to identify innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior process engineers across multiple projects.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
- Contribute to the development of designs by applying innovative solutions and technological developments that drive efficiency and sustainability.
- Work within study and project teams to meet scope requirements and ensure time and budget objectives are achieved.
- Develop process simulations, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs;), design documents, including reports, and specifications.
- Engage and build positive relationships with existing and potential clients and stakeholders, support business development and tenders to win and deliver work for Aurecon.
- Produce written reports, documents and presentations to explain engineering ideas and concepts.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar.
- Strong experience working in a consultancy environment, with a strong understanding of project delivery, client interaction, and commercial awareness.
- Extensive experience in process engineering for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Experience in developing process calculations and modelling.
- Sound knowledge of ADWG requirements and its applications.
- Knowledge and experience in potable water quality requirements and ability to interpret and analyse the water testing reports.
- Strong understanding of physical, chemical and biological water and wastewater treatment methods and processes.
- Robust knowledge of process engineering calculations, PFDs and P&IDs.;
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement in design practices.
- Strong commercial and client-facing skills, with experience managing stakeholders and contributing to business development.
