About the role

We’re on the lookout for a Business Development Manager / Account Manager to join our Sales team in Darwin.

In this role, you’ll manage all NT customer accounts while focusing on retaining and recapturing existing and former Supagas customers to grow our cylinder business. You’ll work closely with the Branch and Sales teams to deliver results and maximise opportunities.

You’ll also build strong customer relationships, identify new partnership opportunities, and promote Supagas products and services. Your ability to spot growth opportunities and turn connections into results will make all the difference!

In addition, you will:

* Review customer database to identify long-term accounts requiring re-sign of supply agreements.
* Monitor 15kg bottle utilisation and dehire reports (Citrus) to identify overstocked or at-risk customers.
* Conduct in-person customer meetings.
* Address issues, secure new agreements and retain supply.
* Adhere to pricing guidelines and meet regional SLAs.
* Provide weekly proactive activity reports to management.
* Identify cross-sell and B2B acquisition opportunities to support new business growth.
* Display commercial acumen through strategic planning of the assigned business customer portfolio, identify risk and opportunities and keep abreast of industry and market conditions.
* Develop a working understanding of pricing principles that impact the profitability of offers.
* Accurately prepare and present contract documents.


You possess:

* Proven experience in Key Account Management or related sales positions.
* Enthusiasm for driving sales by both maintaining strong customer relationships and securing new opportunities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and achieve results, a professional presence.
* You'll be an energetic, resilient, confident and people focused individual, who apply a structured and disciplined approach to your sales/ account management process.
* Demonstrated experience using a structured sales process to managing negotiations and to achieve sales targets in an intensely competitive environment.
* Relevant industry experience – preferably within the gas industry (or related utilities/telco/insurance industries who have similar market dynamics, regulatory focus and or competitiveness) and demonstrable experience in acquiring technical knowledge or new industries.
* The flexibility to travel regionally as needed.
