About the Position

* We are seeking a Culturally Responsive Educator to join our vibrant community at the Curtin Centre for Aboriginal Studies (CAS). As an Associate Lecturer, you will teach in the CAS Bachelor of Allied Science Course, specifically in the Indigenous Community Management & Development units and Mental Health Principles and Practices.

Your Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality teaching and student support to students from diverse backgrounds.
* Foster a learning environment that is inclusive, respectful, and responsive to the needs of all students.
* Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that integrate research and cultural knowledge.
* Participate in outreach and community engagement activities that promote Indigenous perspectives and cultures.
* Assess student progress and provide feedback that is timely and constructive.
* Contribute to curriculum design and innovation that reflects the needs of the course and the university's strategic goals.
* Collaborate with colleagues to deliver cohesive course materials and assessment tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Demonstrated ability to teach effectively and commit to reflective improvement in teaching delivery.
* Understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
* Ability to contribute to scholarship in teaching through participation in teaching and learning strategies and professional development in higher education.
* Capacity to contribute to curriculum review and renewal.
* High-level communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with a commitment to developing a collegial and supportive working environment.
