Flight Training Adelaide Queensland (FTAQ) is one of the leading Registered Training Organisation's in aviation in the southern hemisphere. We provide world class aviation training solutions to students from Australia and internationally.
FTAQ specialises in delivering to the highest standard, ab-initio pilot training for the airline industry. FTAQ has a long term contract to provide pilot training for the QANTAS pilot training academy. We have a modern and well-equipped campus, just outside the rural city of Toowoomba in South Queensland. The current flying fleet comprises of Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft.
Position Overview
The Finance Support Officer provides essential support to the Finance team, with a focus on accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The role supports the Financial Controller (FC) to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, contributing to effective financial operations and organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
* Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and credit notes in a timely and accurate manner.
* Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs.
* Maintain supplier records and respond to queries promptly.
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and approval processes.
Accounts Receivable
* Prepare and issue customer invoices in line with contracts and services delivered.
* Monitor debtor accounts, follow up overdue payments, and manage credit control processes.
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
* Assist with cash flow forecasting through accurate receipting and reporting of debtor balances.
Payroll
* Maintain payroll records for all employees, including new starters, terminations, and variations.
* Process payroll on a fortnightly basis, ensuring compliance with relevant awards, agreements, and legislation.
* Administer superannuation, leave entitlements, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
* Reconcile payroll reports, prepare Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions, and respond to employee payroll queries.
General Finance Support
* Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
* Support internal and external audit requirements.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the Finance team.
* Prepare student close-out calculations and assist FC with refunds, invoicing and related enquiries
* Perform other finance-related tasks as directed by the Finance Manager.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (desirable).
* Experience in any of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
* Familiarity with account systems (NetSuite and Employment Hero well regarded).
* Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory reporting requirements (desirable).
* Working knowledge of Excel and MS Office 365.

Location
There is no scheduled bus service to the FTAQ campus and only a limited bus service that stops at Wellcamp Airport. The location of FTAQ campus from Wellcamp Airport is 3.7 km if walking.
Free parking is available on campus, near the workplace, therefore, this role will suit someone who has access to private transport due to limited access of public transport.
