Job Opportunity: Chef
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our catering team as a chef on a casual basis.
* Prepare food for patients, visitors and staff in an appealing and hospitable manner.
* Relay patient needs, including special diets, to the head chef.
* Maintain work practices according to hospital policies and standards.
* Demonstrate safe food practices as per HACCP guidelines.
* Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement projects.
* Prioritise tasks during shifts.
* Manage workload and complete agreed upon duties.
A strong understanding of health and food safety requirements is essential. We require extensive experience in cooking techniques and high level customer service skills, including flexibility, tact and diplomacy.
The successful candidate will hold a certificate 3 in commercial cookery or equivalent. Trade qualifications and experience working in a health-related environment are highly regarded.
