About the role
You'll support the effective financial management of Manteena and associated entities by delivering accurate bookkeeping, payroll and accounting services. Working closely with the Assistant Accountant and CFO, you will:
* Prepare monthly financial accounts to trial balance
* Maintain well‐organised financial records, schedules and reconciliations
* Deliver end‐to‐end payroll services for 100+ employees
* Ensure compliance across taxation, superannuation, long service leave and industry‐specific obligations
* Manage Single Touch Payroll and annual payroll finalisation
* Support internal and external audits, budgeting and forecasting
* Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes
* Contribute to a collaborative, high‐performing Finance Team
About You
We're looking for someone who brings accuracy, integrity and a proactive mindset. You will have:
Essential
* Experience in bookkeeping, accounting or payroll
* A formal accounting/bookkeeping qualification or progress toward one
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Strong time‐management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
* Proficiency in accounting systems and intermediate–advanced Excel
* Clear written and verbal communication
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism under pressure
Desirable
* Experience in the construction industry or with obligations such as ACIRT or long service leave schemes
* Strong understanding of awards, enterprise agreements and legislative payroll requirements
* Experience supporting audits or budget preparation
