Are you an experienced oncology or palliative care nurse looking to make a meaningful difference in regional cancer care?
South West Healthcare, in collaboration with the McGrath Foundation, is seeking a dedicated McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (Multi Tumour Stream) to provide expert clinical and supportive care for patients and their families while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enhancing cancer support across the South West region.
In this role, you will deliver expert clinical and supportive care while ensuring seamless communication across the multidisciplinary cancer care team.
You will be central to promoting a coordinated, patient-focused approach that enhances outcomes and experiences for people living with cancer.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse, you will: Provide collaborative clinical care and ongoing support for patients and their families.
Offer expert guidance across the full spectrum of cancer care, including health assessment, treatment pathways, and referrals.
Support patients with complex care needs, including those with advanced disease.
Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and strategic planning to strengthen regional cancer services.
What you bring Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and postgraduate qualifications in oncology or palliative care.
Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 3 years in oncology, palliative care, or cancer-specific nursing.
Advanced clinical skills in assessing, planning, and managing complex patient care.
Strong understanding of the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of people living with cancer.
Knowledge of common treatment regimens for advanced cancer and evidence-based practice.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
Experience in policy, procedure, guideline development, and contributing to strategic and clinical service planning.
