Skilled Welder Required
Our heritage railway organization in Tasmania seeks a highly skilled and passionate welder to join their team in the Mechanical Workshop. This hands-on role involves performing welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on locomotives and other railway infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has expertise in various welding techniques, including arc and gas metal arc welding. They are knowledgeable about safety procedures and regulations related to welding and are comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Flexibility is a must, as this role requires the ability to work varied hours with a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated community working tirelessly to preserve Tasmanian railway history.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform welding, fabrication, and repair tasks on locomotives and railway infrastructure
* Use various welding techniques, including arc and gas metal arc welding
* Maintain high standards of safety and quality in all work
* Work collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in welding and fabrication
* Knowledge of welding processes, materials, and safety procedures
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
* Good communication and teamwork skills
