About the Role
As a Terminal Manager at WHSmith, you will be responsible for :
Leading a 'Customer first' culture, ensuring that our Service Guarantee is role‑modelled and consistently implemented.
Leading a high store standard for your team and customers.
Fostering talent, identifying training needs for the teams you lead.
Rostering efficiently, and compliantly to meet business opportunities and demands.
Managing various stores and store formats within the airport
Managing stakeholders and prioritising safe, legal, and compliance
Execution of marketing initiatives / promotional cycles.
Stock replenishment and merchandising in line with planograms.
Providing feedback to Area and Operations Manager on performance or opportunities.
* Please note, the leadership team currently work on a rotating roster which includes 1 Saturday & 1 Sunday every 6 weeks, with rostered days off in the week to account for this. As well as a mixture of early (6am start), day (9am start) and evening (9pm finish) shifts across the 38-hour working week.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a modest leader with strong initiative. With excellent interpersonal skills and robust retail management experience, this candidate will provide support and guidance across the terminal.
You will also carry the following criteria :
2 year's management experience in a fast‑paced retail environment.
Leadership and mentoring abilities.
Experience managing the stock lifecycle.
Knowledge of rostering compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to achieve targets and KPIs aligned with business requirements.
An unwavering determination to succeed
Flexibility with work hours and the ability to work weekends / public holidays when required.
