Remuneration: Band 6 salary from $104,133.36 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO
Location: Werribee based with potential for a hybrid work arrangement. This role may be required to work across multiple locations throughout the Wyndham Municipality.
About the role
Our Social Worker position works collaboratively within our Enhanced Maternal and Child Health team to provide short-term intensive support to families who have been identified as facing increased vulnerability, including family violence and trauma, socio-economic disadvantage and housing insecurity. You will support these families with action plans to create greater ease of access to services and support.
You will collaborate across Council's Community Support department and navigate appropriate agency relationships to ensure children at risk receive full access to the services they need, helping shape their recovery from adversity.
What your day will look like
* Collaborate with the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team to implement tailored interventions and action plans for enrolled families
* Support vulnerable families by offering referral advice and connecting them with relevant services
* Strengthen collaboration and liaison with internal and external family support agencies to enhance community connections for children and families in Wyndham
What you will bring
* Confidence and expertise in support for families experiencing short and long-term vulnerability
* Sound knowledge of community services and support systems available to children and families, enabling effective response across a range of social and welfare needs.
* Demonstrated understanding of childhood development, family life cycles, with a focus on Trauma Informed Practice as the foundation of your work
* Experience and capacity to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Tertiary qualifications in social work or equivalent relevant higher experience and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or relevant professional body.
* Current Working with Children Check
* Collaborative, curious and positive outlook to your work.
