Daisy's Garden Supplies is a respected Victorian family-owned business. We have been supplying high quality building, garden & landscaping supplies to Melbourne, Geelong and beyond for nearly 45 years. The Daisy's team includes approximately 200 people, working across 9 stores and 4 production sites, from Pakenham to Torquay and Colac. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Store Manager to lead our Thomastown team on a full-time basis.
The role
As a Store Manager your key responsibilities will be:
* Provide leadership to the store team
* Provide excellent customer service
* Be responsible for overseeing daily store activities – customer service, delivery management, inventory and merchandising, presentation, open and close processes
* Oversee workplace health and safety and environmental compliance
* Implement operational and strategic improvements at store level
* Undertake customer relationship management and sales growth activities
Expected hours of work
This is a full-time role with hours of work 5 days a week between Monday and Saturday. Store open hours are 6:30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 3:30pm Saturday.
Skills & experience
The successful applicant will be an experienced Store Manager who:
* Has strong experience managing in a customer facing retail environment
* Has an excellent ability to form and maintain positive customer relationships
* Is comfortable working within and implementing standardised processes and systems
* Can provide leadership and coaching to the store team
* Is comfortable (learning) to undertake sales growth and customer relationship management activities
* Has good understanding of general safety and environmental requirements
* Experience with or knowledge of landscaping supplies advantageous but not essential
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake training to become competent in forklift and front-end loader operation, as well as truck driving (training costs will be covered by the company).
