The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including conducting audits and inspections, managing emergency protocols, and handling hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
A successful WHSE officer will demonstrate excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities to foster and uphold a safe working environment.The selected candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:Overseeing and managing St John NT's chemical database system, which includes conducting risk assessments and ensuring the safe use of chemicals.Performing hazard identification, incident investigations, corrective actions, workplace inspections, and risk assessment activities, including necessary reviews.Assisting in the rollout of new policies and procedures throughout St John NT.Proactively identifying and recommending improvements to work practices and outcomes.Conducting workplace inspections and internal audits while ensuring compliance with incident reporting and investigation processes.ABOUT YOUIdeally hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification1–3 years of relevant industry experienceProficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, databases, and various software packagesStrong background in HRIS and other HR toolsThis position will require some travel to some of our regional locations.WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU6 week's annual leave.Salary packaging of $15,899 plus entertainment benefits of $2,650 available.A range of wellness initiatives such as flu vaccination, discounted health insurance, mental and general well-being dedicated employee assistance program for employees of St John NT and their immediate family members.Physical Fitness Reimbursement.17.5% Annual Leave Loading.This is your chance to make a difference, join a dynamic organisation committed to supporting our community.St John NT is a child-safe organisation and is committed to promoting and protecting the safety and well-being of all young people.
