About the role
Pool Lifeguarding offers an opportunity for an active career with great career development pathways and scope for community connection. These roles assist with the supervision and control of a safe and enjoyable environment at Council's Leisure and Aquatic Centres in accordance with Council's policies, and industry regulations and standards, ensuring a great customer experience for all pool patrons.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* You hold a current Royal Life Saving Society Australia Pool Lifeguard qualification;
* You hold a current Provide First Aid qualification (HLTAID 011 or equivalent);
* You have a current Working with Children Check Clearance Number or Application Number as per Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013;
* You have demonstrated experience working in an aquatic or leisure environment providing aquatic safety;
* You are a team player who brings a positive and flexible attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to balance the customer experience with the need to create a safe space for all patrons;
* You are able to respond effectively to customer queries or complaints as required, and offer information on programs and services available at the Centre to encourage take up of Council programs.

Other important information
* The commencing salary for this position is up to $714.75 per week (based on 25 hours). Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $859 per week on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation. Penalty rates apply for all weekend work.
* We have a temporary part-time role available until March 2026.
* This role is located at the Wyong Olympic Pool.
