Task & responsibilities Duties: Provide day-to-day care for children, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. Assist children with daily activities such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene. Monitor children’s development, including observing their learning, behavior, and interactions with peers.
Implement age-appropriate learning activities to stimulate cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Create a safe environment for children to play, explore, and learn, ensuring the safety standards are consistently met. Maintain records of children's progress, including reports on behavior, development, and milestones.
Encourage positive social interactions among children to promote teamwork, cooperation, and sharing. Develop individual care plans based on children’s needs, ensuring personalized attention and support. Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during indoor and outdoor activities.
Support children with special needs by providing tailored care or support as required. Assist with basic educational tasks, such as teaching numbers, letters, colours, and shapes. Provide emotional support to children who may be experiencing separation anxiety or other emotional challenges.
Work with other childcare professionals, including teachers, psychologists, and social workers, to address the needs of children. Provide guidance and discipline using positive reinforcement techniques to manage behaviour. Assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring they meet dietary needs.
Keep the child care facility clean and organised, ensuring toys, equipment, and supplies are in good condition. Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other caregivers to discuss children’s progress and needs. Maintain child care certifications and attend professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices.
Encourage physical activity to support children's physical health and fitness. Assist with the transition to school or other care arrangements as children approach the appropriate age. Qualification & experience Certificate III and
Higher in a relevant or related field Minimum 1 year of experience in the related field. Ability to lead and work within a team under pressure during peak hours. Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
