We are seeking caretakers to live at and look aftera private holiday home on the shores of Lake Eppalock. The closest large town is Bendigo and the suburb Strathfieldsaye is approximately 25 minutes and Heathcote is a 30 minutes drive.
On offer is an accommodation and internet package in lieu of salary with a well maintained 3 bedroom home with heating/air conditioning, fireplace, double carport, small shed and a beautiful vista over the shores of Lake Eppalock. The successful candidates is responsible for their gas and electricity bills.
Ideally the accepted candidate will commence earlyDecember 2025.
The main role and most frequent tasks are:
* daily feeding of three mini goats and chickens with regular maintenance of their pens and coop; assisting with goat hooves trimming
* general maintenance of the grounds, including mowing of lawns, care of vegetable garden, fruit and other trees,
* weeding garden beds,
* occasional cleaning of holiday home,
* pool cleaning, and maintenance.
Ride on mowers, trailers and all equipment required to perform the role are provided.
All expenses pertaining to the running of the property are covered.
Other duties which are less frequent and can be seasonal are:
* small handy person tasks from time to time,
* launching of pontoon,
* possible looking after the owner's dogs for a few weeks a year,
* netting of fruit trees,
* collection of fuel and BBQ bottles
* assistance with recreational equipment and attaching tractor implement
Ideally, we are seeking a retired couple with a strong love for animals and an appreciation for gardening. This position would also suit a family looking for an alternative lifestyle. The job takes approximately hours a week but can vary with the seasons.
Experience with grounds/pool maintenance, ride on mowers, and or general handy person would be beneficial. The owners of the property will help guide you through any questions and explain equipment.
The successful applicants will be well organised and have the ability to perform tasks unsupervised. A current and valid police check will be required. This is a long term gig - short term seekers need not apply.
