About The Role
We are seeking a motivated, experienced GPH-qualified Deckhand for a casual position starting in May 2025. Deckhands are customer-facing, involved in vessel maintenance, operations, and supporting hospitality to ensure excellent guest experiences.
Work involves a rotating roster, predominantly afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with cruise days increasing from 4 to 7 per week from March to June.
Responsibilities include:
* Preparing the vessel for cruises, managing mooring lines, and performing deck rounds
* Ensuring guest safety and delivering high-quality service
* Cleaning, assisting with food and beverage service, and handling guest requests
* Maintaining logbooks, reporting safety concerns, managing guest complaints, and liaising with office staff

You should be passionate, service-oriented, a team player with a positive attitude, and flexible to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
* AMSA Certificate of Competency - General Purpose Hand (essential)
* Coxswain/Master/MED/Radio skills (highly regarded)
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (essential or willing to obtain)
* Food Safety Handling (essential or willing to obtain)
* First Aid & CPR (essential or willing to obtain)
Additional Skills
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Interest or experience in hospitality tasks
* Basic marine knowledge and swimming skills
* Well-presented appearance
* Computer literacy and cash handling skills
* Reliable, proactive, and able to manage crowds and speak publicly
* Cross-cultural awareness and necessary work entitlements in Australia
* No sea sickness
