Education Support Traineeship | Special School
This role is for a part-time Education Support Traineeship in a specialist primary school located in Melbourne’s North. The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, while completing a 12-month traineeship in Education Support.
The school is a Victorian Government school for students aged between 5 and 18 years with an intellectual disability in the moderate to profound range. The values of this organization are Respect, Communication, Opportunity, Engagement, and Support.
Responsibilities:
- Complete training blocks within school holidays
- Support teachers in planning lessons and daily classroom activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group academic help to students
- Assist students who need extra emotional and physical support
- Help manage student behavior in line with school policies
- Other tasks as directed
Requirements:
- Great communication, engaging personality, and people skills
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Capable of providing physical and emotional support to students
- Passionate about education and completing a Cert III in Education Support
- Ability to complete training blocks within school holidays
- Current Working with Children’s Check or willing to obtain
- Willing to complete a two-day volunteer trial
