The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) are the caretakers of Perth's cemeteries, entrusted to commemorate the lives of Western Australians now and into the future. We respectfully help family and friends honour the lives of loved ones and safeguard memories for future generations.
We are currently recruiting for a pool which will be used to fill permanent full-time, part time, and fixed term positions as they arise for the next twelve months. Successful applicants will be placed into the pool for future appointments at our Cemeteries at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, Fremantle and Rockingham Regional Memorial Park, and Karrakatta. We currently have one permanent full-time position available for an experienced Customer Service Officer at Fremantle and Rockingham Cemeteries.

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate individual with a genuine passion for customer service to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for members of the community in our beautiful cemeteries.
The Customer Services Officer will be responsible for:
* Providing compassionate and efficient front counter, telephone and email service to customers, ensuring their needs are addressed effectively and in accordance with legislation, MCB policy, procedures and guidelines.
* Responding to complex enquiries about the MCB, including grants, cemetery renewal and other technical questions.
* Preparing incoming ashes for collection, audit and transferring to storage.
* Assisting bereaved families in the collection of ashes of loved ones.
* Preparing ashes for transfer into decorative urns, postage and memorialisation.
* Processing administration forms, grant applications, maintenance requests, complaints, invoices and other transactions, while maintaining meticulous records using our customer database.
* Bearing witness to family attended services when required.
This role reports to the site Team Leader Customer Services and forms part of the MCB's wider Support Services Team.

Eligibility Requirements
* The recommended applicant will need to provide a National Police Clearance prior to appointment that is less than 6 months old from date of issue or obtain one prior to appointment. A criminal conviction may not preclude you from gaining employment.
* Australian permanent residency is a minimum requirement for permanent appointment to the West Australian Public Sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.
