Audio Visual Production Manager - Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre We are seeking a highly skilled Audio-Visual (AV) Production Manager to be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of AV and theatre services across a broad range of events, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for clients. With deep expertise in the event AV industry and a robust understanding of client expectations, this role leads a team of multiskilled technicians and specialist AV professionals to plan, deliver, and dismantle event setups to the highest standards. Assigned to events ranging from small, single-day functions to large, complex, multiday productions, the AV Production Manager plays a pivotal role in coordinating stakeholders, managing resources, and upholding service excellence at every stage of bringing the event to life.
This role will require work to be performed outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet event requirements and client needs, with regular after-hours contact expected.
Set to open in 2026 on the Geelong Waterfront, Nyaal Banyul will be Australia’s newest convention and event centre. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Exhibition Trust (VCET), this premier venue features a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 square meters of versatile event space, ready to host everything from community gatherings to major conferences and entertainment events.

About the Role
Scripting of Production Schedules in conjunction with the Audio-Visual Event Project Manager to align bump-in/out activities with Venue Operations and Building Services
Liaise with internal operations departments to ensure that their needs are consistently met in a timely and well coordinated manner
Work with other AV members in monitoring and reporting the performance of all AV service EBA team members as well as agency staff
Oversee specialised production elements to ensure the successful planning and delivery of events on a rolling basis
Manage the provision of advice in conjunction with sales and planning, in the design of services for events
Engage regularly with internal operational teams to collaborate, share knowledge and ensure best practices are followed
Deliver event services to the customers of Nyaal Banyul within budget margins
Ensure expenditure on specialised services team is managed within the allocated budget for labour margins
About you
Construction (White) Card
EWP (> 11m) license
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of Audio-Visual services at large scale events, with a focus on the technical elements of event production in the relevant disciplines.
Demonstrated production management skills, particularly focused on managing schedules and scope of events
Experience leading teams with specialised skill sets
Must be fully conversant with all aspects and Audio-Visual requirements for a purpose built convention or conference facility at a management level, including experience in corporate productions
Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement, accountability and results orientation
Proven leadership, training, coaching and performance management of reporting teams.
