Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage payroll services for a dedicated workforce. This involves ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payments, as well as maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Verify timekeeping records and consult employees regarding any discrepancies.
* Record payroll data in the Ascender software system, ensuring all amounts are accurate before issuing of payments.
* Adjust employee tax statuses and withholding information as needed.
* Prepare manual checks for distribution to employees.
* Maintain and record approved leave applications such as paid parental leave, Long Service Leave etc.
* Answer payroll inquiries or refer them to the appropriate person.
* Prepare and input Kronos file into Ascender payroll system, ensuring payroll calculations comply with relevant Awards/Enterprise Agreements and process payments within strict deadlines.
* Provide support to employees regarding payroll issues, Award and Enterprise Agreement matters, separation certificates and termination processes.
* Manage Smart Salary Packaging arrangements and deductions in accordance with guidelines.
* Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks.
Requirements:
* Experience: Processing payroll for approximately 1900 staff from beginning to end.
* Experience using Ascender and Kronos software or similar.
* Experience in interpreting awards and enterprise agreements.
* Ability to meet regular deadlines.
