Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire.
CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.
We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.
CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.
Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department
The Learning Services Department of CGH is based in Sale and services all CGH sites in a clincial and non-clinical capacity.
The Learning Services Department is a collaborative team of highly motivated and passionate educators and administrators who work collectively to facilitate the CGH organisation education framework and to assist staff from all areas (clincial and non clinical) in gaining access to the provision and facilitation of education materials that assists in their personal and professional growth career aspirations/goals.
About the Role
The Workplace Trainer/Careers Advisor will provide essential training and assessment activities – including designing and developing learning programs; using training packages and accredited courses to meet employee needs; planning, organising and delivering group and individual-based learning; facilitating learning in the workplace; and creating, implementing and managing assessment activities and processes.
The role is required to deliver training and assessment services for CGH. They will be required to teach competencies from training packages across Certificate II to a Diploma level in classifications covered by the relevant industrial agreement. The position also advises participants in relation to possible career pathways, and areas of potential future training and employment.
Duties
* Creating, implementing and managing assessment activities and processes.
* Coordinate and deliver work-based learning using best practice delivery modes
* Liaise with external training providers to deliver appropriate courses to participating employees.
* Supporting individual employees to pursue their development preferences and manage their careers, including career changes within CGH
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
1. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent or the ability to acquire such within the role
2. Relevant vocational qualification and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered and assessed
3. Relevant current industry experience
4. Current Victorian Drivers Licence
