Position Summary
Sells merchandise in the major appliance, jewellery, and electronics section of the warehouse. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Answers questions, demonstrates the merchandise, and explains the features. Sets up, cleans, and maintains displays. Stocks and maintains condition of department merchandise. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
* Provides and ensures prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers
* Answers member questions, demonstrates merchandise, and explains features
* Assists members in loading merchandise to cart
* Maintains current knowledge of technology and trends of sales area merchandise
* Communicates with Majors Supervisor regarding quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise
* Follows merchandising standards and practices
* Sets up, cleans, and maintains merchandise displays
* Aligns and faces merchandise to front, collects, returns stray items, and stocks to maintain high merchandise levels
* Reviews lists of items for Forklift Drivers to place in the aisles for stocking
* Participates in merchandise moves
* Checks and approves merchandise for member returns
* Makes and checks accuracy of merchandise signs and marking
* Clears debris from the sales floor and performs security lock-up
* Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards
* Spots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone
* Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
* Assists members in loading merch to cart and their vehicles
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
* Computer, printer, sticker marking gun, pallet jack, step stool, diamond tester, case alarms, electronic merchandise, cameras, RF gun, cash register, table top/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)
Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher.
Licenses/Certifications: None
Experience/Skills: Sales, or comparable experience
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of electronics, jewellery and appliances
