You will be joining a
305‑bed regional referral facility
supported by a
9‑bed ICU/HDU, delivering care across a broad and interesting case mix. The Anaesthesia department is closely integrated with surgical and medical teams and plays a key role in both service delivery and education. This hospital is a recognised
teaching and training site, actively supporting trainees from the
Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme
and the
College of Intensive Care Medicine, providing a dynamic and academic clinical environment.
The Department
5 operating theatres + 2 procedure rooms
Newly developed, state‑of‑the‑art integrated cancer care service
Diverse case mix including:
Obstetrics
Orthopaedics
ENT
Dental
General surgical services
Strong focus on
multidisciplinary collaboration
and continuity of care. Active involvement in
training, supervision, and mentoring. The department operates as a
single, cohesive service, ensuring strong internal support and excellent patient outcomes across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality clinical anaesthesia services across a wide range of specialties
Provide administrative leadership within the department
Supervise and mentor:
Anaesthetic trainees
Junior medical staff
Medical students
Participate In
Acute pain service rounds
Pre‑anaesthetic clinics
Contribute To
Clinical governance
Risk management
Quality improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively across the
full patient care continuum. Participate in an
after‑hours and weekend on‑call roster .
About You
MBBS (or equivalent)
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
FANZCA (or equivalent specialist recognition)
Demonstrated experience delivering specialist anaesthesia services
Strong interest in teaching and supervision
Commitment to continuing professional development
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a collaborative approach
What’s on Offer Total remuneration package up to $571,000 p.a., including:
Base salary: $216,643 – $274,678 p.a.
12.75 % superannuation
