Role Overview
The Environmental Advisor offers the opportunity to play an active part in influencing and delivering the project's environmental targets and outcomes. Reporting to the Manager, Environment & Sustainability, this role will be accountable for delivering environmental performance, implementing client requirements while coordinating and communicating environmental requirements within the Project Team and to stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
* Contribute and implement comprehensive environmental management plans in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and project requirements.
* Perform environmental assessments, surveys, and monitoring activities to identify and mitigate potential impacts on the project, including dust, noise, vibration, and water quality.
* Assist with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and community groups to ensure compliance and address environmental concerns.
* Collaborate with project teams to integrate environmental considerations into planning, design, construction, and operational phases.
* Prepare environmental reports, permit applications, and documentation required for regulatory approvals.
* Track environmental performance metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve sustainability goals.
* Participate in regular site inspections and audits to assess compliance with environmental requirements and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
* Stay abreast of emerging environmental trends, regulations, and best practices to inform decision‑making and enhance environmental performance.
* Serve as a trusted point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing advice and guidance on environmental matters.
Required Skills and Competencies
* Hands‑on experience monitoring dust, noise, vibration, and water quality.
* Previous onsite environmental provider experience.
* Minimum 4 years post‑graduate experience.
* Demonstrated involvement in projects valued at $500 M or greater.
* Strong adaptability and solutions focused.
* Experience on major civil infrastructure highly desirable.
