**Job Description:**
We are seeking a Student Success Educator (Equity) to join the Learning and Teaching Unit, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.
The Student Success Educator (Equity) provides timely and targeted services and strategies to support the transition, retention and success of QUT students in priority learner groups.
This role coordinates the Student Transition and Engagement Program for Success (STEPS), a community of students within their first 96 credit points of study, supported by program staff and Student Success Partners to settle in and successfully navigate university life.
The Student Success Educator (Equity) works in close partnership with SSTA Strategic Leads and Managers, STEM Educators, Language and Learning Educators, and Career Educators to contribute to the work related to Student Success and Teaching Advancement strategic priorities.

The Student Success and Teaching Advancement (SSTA) teams work in partnership with faculties and divisions to deliver a connected and impactful student experience. This is achieved through the provision of university wide learning, careers and retention support services and strategies, and building an engaged community of innovative academic practice and learner focused educational delivery using scholarly and data informed approaches.
SSTA is a large section within LTU employing more than 120 academic, professional and sessional staff, and student partners.
**What you need to succeed**
* You must have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a degree with at least four years' subsequent relevant experience in a field related to education, student engagement, or transition and success.
* You must have proven experience in promoting and supporting others to develop the strategies and techniques needed to engage effectively as an independent learner in physical (face-to-face) and virtual environments.
* You must have demonstrated expertise in one or more areas that promote student success (e.g. peer programs, student partnership and engagement, retention strategy and support, support for learning) and an understanding of the issues which affect adult learners, retention and success in higher education.
* You must have demonstrated ability to work effectively in close partnership with a diverse range of students and staff at all levels of an organisation with a commitment to working from a social justice framework.
* You must be a proven effectiveness as a team member with a flexible approach in relation to change and responding to the shifting needs of the student population.
* You must possess highly effective written, verbal, and digital communication skills including facilitation and presentation expertise and the ability to create high quality and engaging digital learning support resources.
