The Field Test Engineer is responsible for executing hands on manual testing of autonomous haulage systems in mining environments. The role supports system verification and integration to ensure safety and performance of autonomous heavy vehicle operations. This position works closely with engineering, development, and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute field based testing to verify autonomous haulage system functionality
Perform system integration testing across obstacle detection, navigation, and emergency subsystems
Calibrate and verify vehicle control systems and sensor integrations
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues
Collaborate with engineering, development, and operational stakeholders
Track quality metrics and document test outcomes and defects
Produce detailed reports on system readiness and test results
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of mining environments and autonomous haulage systems
Experience with integration, system, regression, and performance testing
Ability to conduct testing in remote and operational field environments
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Clear communication skills for cross functional collaboration
Strong Linux command line capability
Experience with test traceability and evidence gathering tools
