We're Hiring: Technical Consultant – IBM Maximo
We're looking for an experienced Technical Consultant to join our Maximo Capability team. In this role, you'll deliver high‐quality technical solutions across IBM Maximo, supporting configuration, integrations, customisations, reporting, and technical administration to ensure stable environments and successful project outcomes.
This is a hands‐on technical role working closely with functional consultants, project managers, and clients to translate business requirements into effective Maximo solutions, while contributing to continuous improvement, governance, and knowledge sharing.
This role can be based in our Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney offices, with hybrid and remote‐within‐Australia options available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
* Design, configure and support IBM Maximo components, integrations and reporting solutions
* Maintain technical documentation, configuration records and change logs
* Support deployments, upgrades and environment migrations
* Collaborate with functional consultants to deliver customisations and interfaces
System Administration & Support
* Provide technical administration for Maximo environments and batch processes
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimise business disruption
* Conduct technical testing, performance monitoring and quality assurance
* Support ITIL‐aligned change, incident and problem management processes
Team & Project Contribution
* Provide technical guidance to less‐experienced team members
* Support project planning, risk identification and governance activities
What You Bring
* Experience as a Technical Consultant (or similar role) with IBM Maximo
* Strong skills in system administration, integrations, customisation and reporting
* Proficiency in databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Informix)
* Experience installing and configuring RedHat OpenShift
* Strong problem‐solving and analytical capability
* Ability to explain technical concepts to non‐technical stakeholders
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a project environment
* Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud hosting
* Programming experience (Cobol, SQL, Java, Python)
* Familiarity with ITIL frameworks
* Experience in asset‐intensive industries (mining, utilities, energy, infrastructure)
