Electrical Engineering Specialist

The key objective of this role is to lead the development of detailed electrical engineering deliverables. These deliverables will encompass a range of documents including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, calculations, technical reports, datasheets, and tender documentation.

Key responsibilities include preparing and overseeing the production of detailed electrical engineering deliverables, undertaking and reviewing protection coordination, arc flash hazard assessments, and defining mitigating solutions. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for directing and coordinating the work of other electrical engineers, designers, and technical personnel in the execution of projects.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to proactively identify safety hazards and risks associated with asset lifecycles of designed products, plants, or structures. They will also be responsible for ensuring that these risks are mitigated and closed out where relevant.

Required skills and qualifications include 3-7 years of experience in the mining industry (EPCM background preferred), expertise in HV design (SLD, schematics, general arrangements – substation, electrical rooms, etc.), and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with recognized Engineers Australia Engineer status. Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered (Australia Citizen, PR Holder, or Valid Australia working VISA).
