Job Title: Patient Care Assistant
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with nursing staff to provide direct and indirect patient care, ensuring the preservation of patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
* Support patients by providing a range of services that ensure an effective clinical service.
* Contribute to maintaining a hygienic environment by undertaking duties in accordance with hospital policy and Australian Health Care Standards.
* Transport patients and staff as required, and perform courier duties to ensure efficient unit or department functioning.
* Act as a supportive member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Comply with defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures to deliver high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection Criteria:
* Essential: Demonstrate initiative, reliability, and punctuality. Possess proficiency in verbal and written communication, basic computer skills, awareness of multicultural issues, and ability to work within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team environment. Maintain confidentiality and be physically fit to undertake duties such as patient transfers. Hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or Health Support Services or be working towards it.
* Desirable: Gain experience in a health or aged care facility, with experience in manual handling.
