Project Manager - Electrical Infrastructure
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead the construction of electrical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing high-voltage electrical projects and experience with BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) installation.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and execute construction activities related to BESS installation, including planning, site mobilization, bulk earthworks, detailed civil works, inground earthing, mechanical installation of equipment, and electrical cabling works.
* Co-ordinate on-site construction activities to minimize risk and maximize business performance.
* Work closely with the project manager and provide daily feedback on construction progress and weekly reports.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
* Actively lead the site teams to promote and develop a strong Health and Safety culture from project conception to final completion.
* Study internal product documentation to familiarize with Fluence's core BESS equipment, including manuals and internal procedures.
* Oversee site staff, principal contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule are met.
* Evaluate construction methods to determine cost-effectiveness of plans and implement changes as necessary.
* Respond to specific conditions on site, such as schedule delays, emergencies, or other problems.
* Be available to work a flexible roster and provide site coverage as required by the project.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' experience managing similar high-voltage electrical projects.
* Previous experience with BESS installation or power station, switchyard, or transmission line projects connecting to the Australian grid.
* Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other basic computer skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to problem-solve and provide practical and engineered solutions.
* Proven interpersonal skills and a strong attitude to promote and develop a growing team.
